8th International Symposium on Wetland Pollutant Dynamics and Control – 17-19 June 2019

19/06/2019

The 8th International Symposium WETPOL will take place in Aarhus, Denmark, on the 17-19 June 2019.

WETPOL is an international conference bringing together wetland scientists, engineers and practitioners working on wetland ecosystem services.  Conferences and debates will permit to improve the understanding of the role wetlands perform in processing nutrients and contaminants. Conferences will also focus on the role of restored and constructed wetlands and their capacities to ensure sustainable water management and resource recovery while at the same time regulating and mitigating impacts of global climate change.

The conference programme will include several topics, such as “Constructed wetlands for the treatment of domestic, industrial and other types of wastewater” or “Nutrient removal in constructed wetlands in agricultural landscapes”.

The conference will include one day of field trips to explore unique natural wetlands and peatlands in the region as well as examples of constructed and restored wetlands.

Our partner Philipp Otter from AUTARCON GmbH will hold a presentation about the “Combination of Vertical Flow Constructed Wetland (VFCW) and solar driven electro-chlorination for wastewater reuse in Spain”, which is part of INCOVER project. Our partner AIMEN will also attend the meeting.
